Epic Play Ltd – Warranty Terms

Making playtime better is what we do. Making sure you’re looked after if something goes wrong is just as important.

At Epic Play Ltd, we want you and your family to enjoy your products for years to come. That’s why our products are supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty covering eligible manufacturing defects, subject to the terms below.

These Warranty Terms apply to products purchased directly from Epic Play Ltd and are intended to explain clearly what is covered, what isn’t, and what happens if you need our help.

Please read these terms carefully and keep your proof of purchase.

  1. Your Warranty at a Glance

Unless a different warranty period is specifically stated for your product:

  • Our standard manufacturer’s warranty is 6 months from the date you receive your product.
  • The warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects and faults in materials or workmanship.
  • The warranty applies to the original retail purchaser and is not normally transferable.
  • Proof of purchase will be required when making a warranty claim.
  • We will normally try to resolve warranty issues by providing replacement parts first.
  • Where replacement parts cannot resolve the problem, we may arrange a repair or inspection of the product.
  • If a product cannot reasonably be repaired and the fault is covered by the warranty, we may provide a replacement or, where an appropriate replacement is unavailable, store credit / refund.

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by this warranty. This warranty is in addition to those rights and does not replace them.

  1. When Does the Warranty Start?

Your warranty begins on the date you receive your product.

The standard warranty period is 6 months, unless a different warranty period is specifically stated on the product listing, order confirmation or other applicable documentation.

Different components or products may have different warranty periods where this has been expressly stated.

  1. What Does the Warranty Cover?

The warranty covers faults that are determined to have resulted from:

  • A manufacturing defect;
  • A defect in materials;
  • A fault in workmanship; or
  • A production fault that causes the product to malfunction during normal and intended use.

For battery-operated ride-on toys, examples of components that may be covered include:

  • Motors;
  • Speed controllers / control boards;
  • Motherboards;
  • Parental remote controls;
  • Chargers;
  • Media displays;
  • Switches; and
  • Other essential electrical or mechanical components where the failure is due to a genuine manufacturing defect.

We may ask you for photographs, videos, product information or other details to help us diagnose the problem before arranging a repair or replacement.

In many cases, a warranty issue can be resolved quickly by sending the required replacement part.

  1. What Isn’t Covered?

Like most warranties, our manufacturer’s warranty doesn’t cover damage or faults caused by things outside the manufacturing process.

The warranty may not apply where a fault or damage has resulted from:

  • Use contrary to the instructions supplied with the product;
  • Incorrect assembly;
  • Incorrect installation;
  • Misuse, abuse or neglect;
  • Accidental damage;
  • Deliberate damage;
  • Modifications or alterations to the product;
  • Repairs carried out without our prior approval;
  • Repairs or work carried out by an unauthorised person;
  • Failure to carry out appropriate maintenance;
  • Water or liquid damage;
  • Improper storage;
  • Use of an incorrect charger or power supply;
  • Commercial use or rental, unless specifically agreed otherwise;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect the safe or intended operation of the product; or
  • Any other damage or failure caused by circumstances outside a manufacturing defect.

The warranty may also be affected where the product has been exported outside the UK, unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

  1. Wear & Tear and Cosmetic Parts

Some parts naturally experience wear through normal use. These parts are considered consumable or wear-and-tear components and are not normally covered by the standard manufacturer’s warranty unless the issue is due to a genuine manufacturing defect.

These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Wheels and tyres;
  • Seats and seat coverings;
  • Handlebars and steering wheels;
  • Lights and bulbs;
  • USB and AUX-in ports;
  • Stickers and decals;
  • Mirrors;
  • Doors;
  • Body plastics;
  • Decorative items;
  • Accessories;
  • Belts;
  • Chains;
  • Wiring subject to wear or damage through use; and
  • Other components that naturally deteriorate through normal use.

This doesn’t mean that we don’t want to hear from you if something goes wrong. If you’re unsure whether an issue is normal wear and tear or a potential manufacturing defect, please contact us and we’ll be happy to assess it.

  1. Moulded Plastic & Cosmetic Imperfections

Our products contain moulded plastic components. During the manufacturing and moulding process, minor cosmetic imperfections can occasionally occur.

These may include:

  • Small marks;
  • Minor scratches;
  • Slight dents;
  • Moulding lines; or
  • Small variations in the finish.

Where these imperfections do not affect the safety, functionality or intended use of the product, they are considered cosmetic rather than manufacturing defects and are not normally covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

We aim for every product to look great, but a tiny cosmetic quirk shouldn’t get in the way of great play!

  1. Batteries – Important Information

Batteries are consumable components and their performance naturally reduces over time.

For many of our electric ride-on products, sealed lead-acid (SLA) batteries are used. Battery life depends heavily on how the battery is charged, used and stored.

A battery that has been well looked after can last significantly longer than one that has repeatedly been allowed to discharge completely or has been left unused without maintenance charging.

Typical Battery Lifespan

These figures are general estimates only and are not guaranteed:

Level of Care

Typical Battery Care

Expected Lifespan*

⭐ Excellent

Charged after every use, fully charged before storage and topped up every 30 days

2–3 years

👍 Good

Usually charged after use and stored indoors, with occasional missed top-ups

1.5–2 years

⚠️ Average

Seasonal use with periods of non-use and occasional missed charging

6–18 months

❌ Poor

Left discharged for weeks/months or repeatedly run completely flat

3–12 months

*These are typical estimates only. Actual battery life varies depending on usage, storage conditions, terrain, rider weight, temperature, charging routine and other factors.

  1. How to Get the Most from Your Battery

Want your battery to go the distance? Give it a little TLC.

We recommend that you:

  • Fully charge the battery before first use;
  • Recharge the battery after every use;
  • Recharge the battery approximately every 30 days during periods of non-use;
  • Store the vehicle and battery in a cool, dry place;
  • Avoid leaving the battery completely discharged;
  • Fully charge the battery before long-term storage;
  • Disconnect the battery during extended storage where recommended by the product instructions; and
  • Only use the correct charger supplied with, or specifically recommended for, your product.

Things That Can Shorten Battery Life

Battery performance can be reduced by:

  • Leaving the battery discharged after use;
  • Storing the product for long periods without charging;
  • Repeatedly running the battery completely flat;
  • Storing the product in cold, damp or unsuitable conditions;
  • Using an incorrect charger;
  • Failing to follow the recommended charging routine; or
  • Normal battery ageing and usage.
  1. Is the Battery Covered?

Because batteries are consumable components, reduced performance caused by normal use and ageing is not normally considered a manufacturing defect.

Battery faults caused by poor charging, prolonged discharge, unsuitable storage or normal deterioration are therefore not normally covered by the standard manufacturer’s warranty.

However, if a battery is found to have a genuine manufacturing defect, we will assess the issue and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with this warranty and your statutory consumer rights.

Where an additional or extended battery warranty has been specifically purchased with your product, that additional cover will apply according to its separate terms.

  1. Battery Support

If you’re experiencing a battery problem, don’t panic — it may be something simple.

Our team can provide guidance on:

  • Basic troubleshooting;
  • Correct charging procedures;
  • Battery care;
  • Storage;
  • Testing and diagnosis; and
  • Replacement batteries where appropriate.

Where applicable, we may also be able to offer replacement batteries outside the standard warranty period.

  1. How We Deal With a Warranty Claim

If something isn’t working as it should, please contact us at:

sales@epicplay.co.uk

We’ll ask for some basic information to help us understand the problem. This may include:

  • Your order number or proof of purchase;
  • The product model;
  • A description of the issue;
  • Photographs or video showing the problem; and
  • Any other information reasonably required to diagnose the fault.

Our aim is to identify the quickest and most practical solution.

  1. Our Repair & Replacement Process

Step 1 – Let’s Diagnose It

We’ll first try to understand what’s happened and establish whether the issue appears to be covered by the warranty.

Sometimes the answer is surprisingly simple, and a little troubleshooting can get you back to playtime without needing to send anything anywhere.

Step 2 – Replacement Parts

Where appropriate, we may send replacement parts for you to fit.

This is often the quickest way to get your product back up and running.

Any replacement part supplied under warranty should be installed in accordance with our instructions.

Step 3 – Repair

If replacement parts don’t resolve the problem, we may arrange for the product to be returned to us for inspection and repair, depending on the circumstances, product and location.

Our technicians will assess the product and determine the appropriate course of action.

Step 4 – Replacement

If we determine that the fault is covered by the warranty and the product cannot reasonably be repaired, we may provide a replacement product.

Where an identical replacement is unavailable, we may offer an alternative of comparable specification or another appropriate remedy.

If a suitable replacement is not available, we may provide store credit, subject to the circumstances of the claim and your statutory rights.

  1. Local Repairs

In some circumstances, we may agree that having a product repaired locally is the quickest or most convenient solution.

If we ask or agree for you to arrange a local repair:

  • The repair must be agreed with Epic Play Ltd before the work is carried out;
  • Unauthorised repair costs will not normally be reimbursed;
  • You must retain and provide a valid receipt or invoice for the agreed repair; and
  • We may require evidence that the repair addressed the manufacturing defect or fault.

We will confirm in advance whether an agreed repair cost is eligible for reimbursement and any applicable limits.

  1. Keeping Your Packaging

For certain products, particularly larger ride-on toys, the original packaging can be extremely useful if the product needs to be returned.

Where reasonably possible, we recommend keeping the original box and packaging during the warranty period.

However, your inability to retain the original packaging will not, by itself, remove or restrict any statutory consumer rights you may have.

If a return is required, we’ll provide appropriate instructions regarding packaging and transport.

  1. Product Specifications

Product designs and specifications can occasionally change.

Epic Play Ltd reserves the right to make reasonable changes to product specifications, components, colours, designs and features without prior notice where permitted by law.

Any such changes will not affect your statutory rights or the agreed specification of a product already purchased.

  1. Commercial Use & Rental

Unless expressly stated otherwise, our standard manufacturer’s warranty is intended for products purchased for personal, domestic use.

Products that are rented out, hired, used commercially or used in a business environment may not be covered by the standard warranty.

If you’re purchasing products for commercial purposes, please contact us before purchasing so that we can confirm whether alternative warranty terms are available.

  1. Returns, Refunds & Your Statutory Rights

Our manufacturer’s warranty is separate from our returns and refund policy.

A warranty claim does not automatically create a right to a refund.

If you are entitled to cancel an online purchase under applicable consumer legislation, or if your product does not meet your statutory consumer rights, those rights apply separately from this manufacturer’s warranty.

Nothing in these Warranty Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any legal rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

  1. Important Safety Information

Our products should always be used responsibly and in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product.

Please make sure:

  • The product is assembled correctly before use;
  • Children are supervised as required;
  • Appropriate safety equipment is used where recommended;
  • The product is used only for its intended purpose;
  • Weight and age restrictions are followed;
  • The product is not used in unsuitable conditions; and
  • Regular checks and maintenance are carried out.

Failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions may result in damage, injury or loss of warranty cover where the failure is connected to the issue being claimed.

Send the details to: sales@epicplay.co.uk

We’d much rather help you find a solution than leave you scratching your head!

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Epic Play Ltd will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of a product.

However, nothing in these Warranty Terms excludes or limits any liability which cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which applicable law does not permit us to exclude or restrict.

These Warranty Terms do not affect your statutory consumer rights.

  1. Changes to These Warranty Terms

We may update these Warranty Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our products, services or applicable legal requirements.

The version applicable to your purchase will be determined in accordance with applicable law.
