We have all been affected by the current climate. While many people are trying to carrying on as normal as possible, some of us are having to adapt to be able to look after our children at home and work. This can be stressful but we’ve come up with some ideas to make a difficult situation become an unplanned staycation.

Living in the age of easy to use technology a time where hours can be spent on an iPad, Xbox, Playstation or Nintendo without a second thought, it is a lot different from when we only had landlines and letters! Sometimes this can have an adverse effect on your child’s mood so during these tough times we should all be aware of too much screen time.

We at Epic Play have come up with some fantastic, exciting and playful things to keep the little ones entertained all day!

To make your unexpected staycation more awesome you could make a list of your favourite ideas, cut them up and pick them out of a hat (or any container you have to hand) one by one, creating your very own unique lucky dip.

  • Make pom poms with wool to create a pom pom rug, pom pom bunting or make a pom pom bunny
  • Play kitchen/restaurant with your play food or homemade playdough
  • Find 5 different green things in the garden (or a colour of your choice)

  • Build a bug hotel, visit it every day to see if you have any guests
  • Water play, use straws to make bubbles
  • Use chalk to draw in your garden
  • Have fun gardening

What’s important to us

At Epic Play learning is important to us and we know children learn a lot from play and creativity. Due to Covid-19, we may be at home for some time, so instead of us panic buying toilet rolls let’s get our homes prepared for fun! Why not see if you can find something fun for the children in our online shop, we have items for all different ages.

Our favourite outdoor toys at the moment are our Trampolines and Climbing Frames as they keep your children active whilst at home!

New to Epic Play

Over the last couple of months, we have been adding some really exciting outdoor toys to our website, such as the new Rebo Swings and Slides!
